CLOSED: Help with cat id

This caterpillar was in the same picture with an orange sulphur I was photographing. Is it an orange sulphur cat or something else? I couldn't find any images online that looked just like it.

I'm going to guess Cucullia asteroides. Wagner calls it "The Asteroid" while bugguide.net calls it the Goldenrod Hooded Owlet. Individuals are "exceedingly variable", according to Wagner, which is perhaps why it is hard to find an exact match. Its foodplants are primarily the flowers of asters and goldenrods, which fits your picture.

Your guess looks like a pretty good one to me - the image on that link that shows the mouth or head extended looks right on. Much more attractive larva than adult! I'm going to leave this thread open for another day or two to see if there's any more input, but I'm fairly satisfied with your guess.
Thanks!
