Here is my question: I have a travelling spider in my backyard. It seems to keep moving location every few days, and today I found it by my back porch light. The spider is large, between the size of a quarter and 50-cent piece. It spins an octagonal/orb-type web. Back two legs (one each side) are black and white striped, and the six other legs are dark red. The thorax is a dark brown with no spots or stripes, and the abdomen/head is dark red. What kind of spider is it? Is it dangerous to humans?
Unfortunately, I have no pics. Please advise, as I do not want to kill it if I do not have to.

A pic would be nice if you can get one but, in the meantime, none of the Orb Weavers that I know of are dangerous to humans. Bites are extremely rare. Relocate it, if you can(or dare), and enjoy the benefits of having a great spider on your property.
