Rian, thank you so much for a wonderful thread. It's so good to see birds from your part of the world. Love them all, but the pair of White-faced Whistling Ducks look like they're deep in conversation. You folks sure do have a lot of thorny trees over there, don't you? I'm off to look at your wildlife now.

Thanks margaret - did you pic up on the funny part in the beginning...There was another 5 shots in between and by some stage through the tears I told my wife - How the heck am I going to snap birds - cannot even pic a chicken! LOL! It was really funny at the stage....nice icebreaker too...

PERTH, Australia

I sure did, Rian. Mind you, chickens are notoriously difficult to photograph :)

Life-size remake of an dinosaur found in this area, called 'kirky'. It belonged to the group of carnivorous dinosaurs called theropods, which walked erect on 2 legs and gave rise to the birds..

Ditto to what Pelle said. Also love the blooms the Sunbirds are on.

The Sunbirds are fantastic, Rian. Nice shots.

Wonderful thread Rian...enjoying it very much!

Glad you like them burd -- I have not counted them all, including the ones I did not post, but I think it was pretty successful in birding terms, never mind all the rest... the fun part is that this is only a patch on the 488 species of birds we can see in summer...so lost to go! LOL!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

What beautiful birds Rian!! Love the owls...never thought of owls being in Africa before!!
