Sinningia-is it a goner?

Phelan, CA(Zone 8b)

Hoping to get some help from Olaf, or anyone with Sinningia knowledge! I received a Sinningia Amizale and S. Tauras in the mail today. When I unwrapped the Amizale, the plant fell right out of the pot! I looked, and NO ROOTS at all! I had been very gentle, so I know I didn't tear the roots off when removing it from the wrapping. Yet the plant wasn't the least bit wilted, looked really healthy. The Tauras was just a touch wilted, but at least it had roots to hold it in the pot. I didn't know what to do, so I put the Amizale back in its pot, burying the little "nub" at the bottom of the plant where I assume the roots should be. I didn't see any roots in the medium. How is this possible? For a plant to look so good with no roots? Well, I put it on a pebble tray with its buddy, and checked on it two hours later to find it WILTED. Every leaf is very limp, and it happened that fast! I put it in a gallon zip lock baggie for now. What can I do? I'm waiting to hear back from the seller. Seems all I have lately are problems with one plant or another, lol! Here's a pic I took of the two before the wilting happened. Tauras on left, Amizale on right.

And now for the wilted picture. It might not look horribly bad in the pic, but when you feel the leaves, they are completely soft, not at all firm like when it first arrived.

I'd take off a couple of the biggest leaves since there's no root system to support the plant. Then place it in moist media and into a ziplock baggie for a couple weeks until some roots develop. Wait for Olaf's input first. He's great at plant revivals!

Amizade is pretty easy to revive. If there are no roots,I would make a new cut,let it sit a half hour or so,put it in damp mix or perlite/vermiculite and dome it.It will root pretty fast.
It sounds as if the seller sent you cuttings.rather than established plants with tubers.

I agree with Lynn.

Both cuttings don't look too bad. Make a fresh cut, dip in RootOne or something with a fungicide and stick into peat moss or whatever your preferred rooting medium is.

I've had MUCH worse Sinningia cuttings root and resume growth within a few weeks.

I don't have 'Amizade' but, as Lynn said, this really is an easy one, but I do have 'HCY's Taurus' and if anything should go wrong with yours, I'll make you a cutting and send it to you once it has a little tuber.

Oh, Sinningia cuttings can go into real bad shock during shipping. Simply remove half of the largest leaves by cutting off the tips. That'll help with the inevitable water loss. The plant will most likely shed a few leaves anyway. Don't be squeamish. Ugly now means pretty later. And you help the cutting getting established.

Of course, dome, keep slightly moist and wait.

(Mini) Sinningia cuttings usually root within about two to three weeks and resume growth quickly.

Hope that helped.

Thanks everyone! I will go ahead and cut off half of the largest leaves tomorrow. Its already shedding the bottom most leaves. 2-3 weeks isn't that bad, I thought it might take much longer. I have to learn to be patient. I worry so much, and I want them to be healthy again NOW. The seller has said she will put aside another Amizale for me in case I lose this one. I'll keep everyone posted. Thank you again!
