Had a scare in Atlanta

I had to carry my wife to Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta today. While we were in the examination room with the doctor one of the nurses knocked on the door and told him she just wanted to inform him that they might not have any more patients today. She informed him that the police was out front stopping anyone from entering. She said it was because of anthrax at the IRS. I guess the IRS must be in an adjouning building. When we left the police had also left and things were back to normal. The building we were in was a large building as we were on the fifth floor. It was an errie feeling to think we were in a building that they weren't letting the public into. More like a scary feeling. I watched the news tonight to see if any mention was made of it and it wasn't on there. I also couldn't help but notice the way traffic in Atlanta has thinned out. I guess people are staying at home. Usually is 6-7 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic. I have never drove in Atlanta and the traffic not crowded before.

wow Jim. I sure am glad you're okay. The whole world feels upside down. The only thing I find sanity in is plants. Somehow trading and digging and getting, it just helps me forget for a while. Stupid, but it helps. Sorry, I just came from a page full of those images and it just gets to me worse now than before.

Thanks tiG. I know that feeling of forgetting the worldly cares while gardening. Blood pressure was what got me interested in gardening in the first place. My doctor had told me to find a hobby to slow me down and it ended up being plants. It really does help. Jim

Weve had several of those here in Michigan-A doctor in Saginaw got a envelope full of powder in the mail-It was nothing.
Yesterday in Midland a daughter put one in her moms mail box because she was mad at her-Police arent to happy.
I think there will be alot more of these hoaxs to show up.
Its a shame! The time and $$ thats involved in the investigation of each case-shame shame shame!

My gosh going to the Doctor is bad enough but to have a scare like you had is just terrible. I think it is awful that we have to feel afraid and very uneasy even opening the mail and doing other things we never thought about before.

There was a scare in Eastpoint,Fl. recently as well. Turned out to be nothing. Eastpoint is not a big city..just a small fishing town.

We have had three envelopes in Ky show up...wonder how much is really not being told to the public concerning these. We were told they tested negative, which suits me fine, but I dont believe it. I think they should be keeping a lid on things a bit more. The enitire nation is in a panic because of something that can be cured with antibiotics. Do you think that people are freaking out about strep thoat or other baterial inffections? It can kill you too, especailly people with heat problems. I think we all need to causious, thankful...it could have been much much worse! The Nation needs to relax and not watch so much TV! Especailly the NEWS, all the media is doing now is feeding into everyones fears, not comforting them!
