SOP SAVE OUR PALM!!!!
This palm is suffering from severe magnesium deficiency. I am shocked that a Botanical Garden would not figure this out and correct the problem.
I am also very confused about all the comments I see on this site regarding this palm and the common name "window pane". Juvenile versions of this palm exhibit a window pane effect in the leaves, but they grow out of this phase rather quickly. The comments seem to imply there are two versions, one with window panes, one without.

This photo is of Beccariophoenix fenastralis, not madagascariensis… needs to be moved.

fenastralis and madagascariensis are one and the same......according to the taxonimonists
madagascariensis was renamed fenastralis

no longer true... madagascariensis is a completely different species -name got moved over officially to the plant once called 'Beccariophoenix madagascariensis 'No Windows' which is not at all the same species as the windows version now called fenastralis. The reason for that is the 'now windows' form of the Beccariophoenix was the original plant identified by Dransfield in the Palms of Madagascar. Then plant seed being sent over from Madagascar by the gazillions was labeled the same.. .but as these plants matured, it was evident these trees were NOT the same species originally described... so Dransfield had to rename them. The original name then moved over the species originally described as such (what we called 'no windows'). Plants are quite different looking as they mature and frankly, B madagascariensis is a WAY better palm for us folks in California where the B fenestralis plants struggle mightily here, and almost always die after a few years. So horticulturally these plants are extremely different as well.

Ok, so, with this photo, was the label correct? Should it be moved or deleted? Let me know as this is way over my head.

it is correct as B fenestralis. It is a great example of how poorly that palm does in California, though
