This palm is suffering from severe magnesium deficiency. I am shocked that a Botanical Garden would not figure this out and correct the problem.
I am also very confused about all the comments I see on this site regarding this palm and the common name "window pane". Juvenile versions of this palm exhibit a window pane effect in the leaves, but they grow out of this phase rather quickly. The comments seem to imply there are two versions, one with window panes, one without.
