What are your favorite flowers and why?

Plymouth, MI(Zone 6a)

I am already starting to think about next spring and what I would like to plant. Thought it would be fun to see what everyone likes best and get some ideas. I loved my cosmos this year they filled vases all over my house and they bloomed forever.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Daylilies, brugs and gingers. Can't forget hosta.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

brugs, passionflowers and hardy geraniums, there is no number one, I love them all equally. Really getting into hybrid daylilies, it's still mostly interest, but I have a lot of good seeds that I know will produce nicely for me. And all the new tropicals I've discovered lately.
Brugs for the fragrance and size, passiflora for the way they're so different than everything else and each other. and hardy geraniums because they are no trouble, bloom forever and I love blue flowers.

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Giant mixed Zinnias in the annual category..planted them this year for the first time..and they put on a lovely colourful show for a couple of months. Going to try and grow them from the seed I saved..that will be a first too.

Stargazer lilies and other similar types..in the perennial category. They are so exotic and tropical looking.

Hibiscus in the tropical family..the kind I have to bring indoors in the winter.

Gardinias!! (did i spell that right??) Only one problem, can't grow them outside (too cold here) and if I bring them inside I kill them! I just love the way they smell!!!!!!

Blum, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't have much growing now,but if I had to choose a favorite it would probably be HERBS. They affect most of my senses.I love to look at them, smell them, feel them, taste them, and if I'm real quite I think I can hear them answering! Yes! I "talk" to my plants. I love wildflowers because they surprise you, and do not need much care. Then there are the vines, which do as they please!MY (heavenly blue ) morning glories really done me proud this summer.what a display they made!Did you say What is your favorite flower? no one can choose just one! Ha,Ha,Ha.

Plymouth, MI(Zone 6a)

I sure would loooooooooove to have a garden with everything that has been mentioned, wouldn't you all. What a picture that would be. Meems

The zinnias were the absolute COLOR in the garden this year. I love fragrance but it's so hard to find except for roses which I don't do well. I have shrub roses. I did plant thyme this year and the pink flowers and fragrance were wonderful. The monarda and yarrow smell good too. The dianthus and scabiosa were beautiful. Cosmos are still blooming despite cold weather. The hibiscus blew me away with the size of the blooms. I guess I would have to say anything with color and fragrance. In August, I had red impatience blooming between hostas that had huge double blooms that were fragrant and the red and white was beautiful. I love the look of cottage gardens so I guess that is what I'm trying to achieve. Don't know if I'll ever make it but I'm having fun trying. :-)

Louisville, KY(Zone 6a)

Stargazers would have to at the tope of the list, but anyhting that smells good and lasts a long time in a vase!

Help! maybe, one or two of you, on this thread can tell me where I saw the japanese morning glory co-op project? I will not be so dumb, and will write it down .All systems go for my share of the seed expenses.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

It's in the co-op forum, but it's closed. :(

Blum, TX(Zone 8a)

Boo, Hoo,Hoo laying on the floor throwing a fit. No one loves me any more! NOT! there are still a lot of morning glories out there that I don't have.and I can pay the price that park seed is offering. I just won't have the variety I'd like. Probably can't get what I have already, planted before the heat wave.I'm going to give it the best I got.Don't feel sorry. You do a good job every one can't be served all the time.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Awww, tink - chin up. Start planning another co-op for next spring :)
