Not sure what this is. Think it might be a hummingbird moth. It is on a chair on the deck and doesn't move when I am taking pictures etc. I posted this a bit ago, but don't know what happened to it so it might come up as a duplicate.
This, whatever it is, has a wingspan of 3 1/2 to 4 inches I would say, a furry body that is fairly wide as you can see, and 1 1/2 to 2 inches long. I am not sure what it is, I have never had any around that I know of. I don't know what it is eating on. I don't see any damage on any of my plants.
Can someone help me?
A pretty something on my deck

This is not the place to ask for idrntifications. We have an Insect and Spider Identification Discussion Forum here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/bugid/all/
which is a much better place to get insects identified.
Having said that, I am able to identify your moth, which is the One-eyed Sphinx - (Smerinthus cerisyi): http://bugguide.net/node/view/435435

Thank you Ken. I had no idea there were so many "wrong" places to talk about bugs.
