What exactly is this hanging ouside my window?

Holy Moley, this spider is about the size of a half dollar! It is probably common but the picture is from the bottom so I can't get a good match online. The window is on the second floor of my house.

Perhaps it is one of the spotted orbweavers of the genus Neoscona. There are several and it can be difficult to distinguish among them even when viewing them dorsally. Here one that looks like yours:
