I first noticed these things a few years back, they looked like huge bumble bees; but I was told they were wood eating bees and they are eating my deck off my double wide mobile home. I've been told not to bother them as they are good pollinators for my garden; but at the expense of eating my deck and possily my house????

I have what is referred to as carpenter bees
Carpenter bees do not eat wood. They are nectar and pollen eaters. They can do a little damage with the holes they bore into your house but not much, I don't think.
Is this your bee? One of them, anyway?

Yep, it's a big fat one and fuzzy and you can see the holes it's put on my deck; but, I knew they were good pollinators so left them alone.
