My 'Ruby Spice' Summersweet (Clethra) is being destroyed by bugs that look like a kind of weevil, though I've had difficulty ID'ing a specific variety as of yet. It is visibly present and eating both day and night, and will jump off leave if it detects my hand close to it. Hand-squashing them has had little productive effect and I would like to identify it so that I can effectively rid the bush of these pests! I've attached a few photos below.
