CLOSED: Large wasp???

Can someone please tell me what this is? I've never seen such a large wasp in this area (Northwest Ohio) before. It doesn't look as big as it did when it was flying, but it's still pretty impressive. Thanks for any help identifying!

Looks like it could be a Great Black Wasp aka Katydid killer. They are large but non aggressive. I get a ton in my garden and while intimidating they have never bothered me.
