Anyone know what this is?

Found this spider in the Garden and do not know what it is. It is about 1.5" long and very aggressive

Nice picture and great find! This sure looks like a Foldingdoor Spider, possibly Antrodiaetus unicolor. There aren't many good pictures of this online, but it matches the description and picture found in Howell & Jenkins. They say this about this spider, "...less frequently encountered than some other species of trap-door spider." It can burrow in soft, sandy soil, on the edge of cliffs in soil and moss in rocky crevices. "The burrow often has a silken trap-door that folds in the midline...These spiders leave their burrows in the evening to hunt or repair their trap-door."

Very interesting spider, and i can see the beginning of the huge chelicerae in the picture, which helps to point toward this family. Here's another picture I found online:

Thanks for the reply. Would these be common in Canada do you know? I've never seen one before and he/she is very large. Here is a pic of the fangs
