OH Liz That is so Pretty I Have a cactus its been out side for about 3-4 yrs & dose not bloom or i have never seen a bloom. do you use reg cactus soil how often do you feed it ???
looks as you might have to get a bigger container :))

Hamilton, OH

Susie
I use regular garden soil, I just water it, I have never feed it, I don't know where I would find a bigger container
it has been in that container for 3 years now, I also have them planted in the ground, I was really surprized
last year when they Bloomed, what kind of catcus do you have? if it's like mine it should Bloom for you

Elizabeth

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

The one I Have was from another gardener who said this one was to bloom yellow flowers but I have never seen it bloom its been in a container for about the whole 3-4 yrs that i have had it .

maybe i should send you a few NUBS Of this one , I'm sure i could find a Pot For a few Nubs :)
another hot muggy day , got to get out early to get a few things done.
Happy gardening

Hamilton, OH

Susie
I can also send you some pads, make sure you use tongs, to handle them, all you do is put the pads on the dirt then
cover them up with some soil, the only reason, I have mine in big flower pots, I ran out of room in my garden area
I have a small yard, I did the same thing as you did, I was out at 6:45 this morning watering, it was really nice out
great time to be outside. have a great afternoon

Elizabeth

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Susie
that's a different Catcus than mine, Prickly pear can stay outside all year, you should have seen the 6ft Catcus, that I gave to our local university conservatory, it had so many Blooms on it every year, but was such a pain to take in & out
every year, I'll see if I can find the photo of the Blooms, a piece broke off, I kept that, I am glad to see that I am not the only early riser, I have watered already, transplanted some new Brugs, caught up on my laundry, so all is good
have a great day, I'll be back on later

Elizabeth

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

this one I leave outside all year also & I thought the gal said it was a prickly pear & was to have yellow blooms
but i have never saw any blooms . maybe i should put it where it will get full sunlight .

Here is another cactus it is one for the house but it is going wild do i cut off the pads & root them ???

night, I woke up this morning to Rain, so I didn't have to water, I got a bunch of other things done that needed to
be done, now it's overcast, I love it, oh I have the day Blooming Cerus also, it should be Blooming soon

how long dose it take for them to get big enough to bloom ??? so pretty girl you must have a huge GH Or Sunroom for all those plants :) well i have got to say good night back for coffee.

Hamilton, OH

Susie
it takes 3 years for them to Bloom from a leaf, I have a basement with grow lights for all my plants in the winter
I have a 6x8 GH that I use for the end of the season & in the spring, do you have a basement? if so you can
make it a green room

Elizabeth

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

no Basement here I have a Livingroom that is not used any more so i use that room for it is very large well 12x15
but i cannot bring daddy down into it anymore so i use it for all my plants in the winter.
but if my Brother & SIL Move in this fall I won't be able to use it ..
Not sure what is going to happen yet .
sure has cooled off this morning is so nice out side So i hope to get some things done . only in the high 70;s

your proble on your way out :) I'm waiting for daddy to get up so i can put his BKF ON YOuhave a great day love your PIC's

Hamilton, OH

Susie
your Livingroom would do just fine if you have enough light, my LR is way to dark for plants, my basement has concrete walls, it was so dark when I moved here, so I painted it white put up a bunch of grow lights, it works
well, I have my washer & dryer down there, so while I am waiting for the laundy to get done, I take care of my
plants, I really enjoy being down there with all the green plants
I ran out this morning mowed my lawn, got the bills paid, good thing, it's starting to heat up out there, it was really
nice out, you take care of your dad? I think that's sweet, my Husband takes care of his mom, he goes to her house
to take care of her, I can't see her ever living anywhere else but her house
well Girl take it easy, I'll talk to you later

Elizabeth

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

well its time to get a shower back in the am

Hamilton, OH

Susie
good morning, it's time for me to water, since it hasn't rained, I am going to use Miracle grow Bloom booster, just
to see if it helps the Brugs Bloom, last year I had a ton of Blooming Brugs this same time of year, but that heat has
done a number on them, hopefully by next week I'll have Blooms to share
hope you get the flower bed done, don't work to hard, have a great day
