No Siberian Iris

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

I got beautiful foliage on my Iris this year, but not a single bloom. I have had them for a number of years and this is the first time w/o a single bloom in the spring. Do I need to separate them in the fall or what?

Hi haighr-
I have an old variety and have seperated them into many pathces. The ones that ran along the edge of a maple tree bed eventually quit blooming. I seem to recall feeding them and getting some bloom the next year. Later I took some patches up. put them in more sun and better soil and may even have fed them. Whatever I did they now bloom great. So my suggestion is they need food and maybe thinning.

Thanks, I will do that.

I've got iris this year!
We split them last year and crossed our fingers and they came back this year in all their glory. Thanks for the suggestions.

They just really put a smile on my face and they are so beautiful and last sooooooo long in my arrangements!

I have a lot of scraggly ones to move out of a bad site; it ill be hard not to try and salvage them somehow. I'll have to find something 'worse' to really discard...on and on.

You can always bring them up here lol!

I'll keep it in mind!! Won't be the only thing in my garden which is there to share until something better/ newer comes along.
