We came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1189482/
I love the little blue stripe in this bloom! One of Karen's (gardener2005) Purple Blizzard blooms!
Summer 2011: Growing plants under lights indoors! Pt 2
Jackie - No blooms lately on Fuji no Sora cross. But there are more buds, so ... ;-)
Gorgeous blooms today Becky. The deep purple is striking from Nicoles sds.
Eager to see the no Sora cross blooms, its a beauty.
Becky, your blooms are awesome!!! I love seeing them all!!!
Becky, the Tsukiyono is a beauty.
Thanks Jackie! It's very light gray-lavender color stripes! I just like all these unusual colors! Remind of a box of crayons ... so many hues and shades and colors!
Hi Becky,
I just love your flowers. Can't wait for the new growing season...
I can't imagine who the parents might be (http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=8670765). I didn't have one blue MG in my yard last year... :-)
Elsa
Elsa - Perhaps a recessive gene from one of the seeds you sent? When does the growing season start for you?
Becky, Spring officially starts on the 1st of September. Not so long anymore...
You are welcome Becky! Your blooms and vines have been awesome this year as in previous year too!!!
Elsa - Can you start some of the seeds/vines indoors under a shop light to give them a jump-start?
Helena - Thank you! You got it going on girl with all your vines/blooms this year! Outdoors is the way to go if the vines can survive diseases, bugs, and weather conditions! LOL!
That tusukiyono is something! I didn't grow this one this year. Been so darned busy and we have some deadlines with some of the dumpsters we are renting so we have been running ragged.... I wish I could participate more here....
Pretty neat bloom Becky. I have about 7 purpureas that I've been ignoring, been paying too much attention on the other blooms.
Helena - I have to tell ya ... the I. purpureas have been getting my interest ever since I started growing the flakes and the higes. My hige vines are still going stong! I haven't the heart to pull them out and replace them with new vines, so instead I just enjoy them! The vines and foliage are really lush, too! They don't seem to mind the heat right now! So they get to stay and grow and bloom! And make me smile! That's what it's all about! Enjoying those plants and blooms!
Mine are in containers. My ground soil is so bad that they can't even germinate volunteers in my yard! LOL! Which is probably a good thing as I would otherwise have them growing everywhere! LOL!
Becky, Your Lavender Flaked is a beauty, love the colors
A, pretty hige you had growing, sorry you lost it.
Oops! I agree with Jackie that your purple hige is really pretty, Antoinette! A shame they don't do well for you. I have white flies here now too. Grrrr ... Those are horrible buggers!
Ditto on the whiteflies, :-(
Thought I'd show some of what are probably the last few spurts of blooms on the current indoor vines. Been crossing blooms and collecting seeds! No telling what the F1 vines will produce, but it sure is fun finding out! LOL!
Purple Speckles (F1). Weird how some of the blooms get a little burnt around the edges. These are indoors under A/C and the lights don't get very warm. Probably were overdue on the watering! LOL!
