CLOSED: Need ID...

Hi,

I need some sort of ID for these "Crawlers"...took them on the beach while I was on vacation in the Cayman Islands...Thanks in advance...

those bugs are common on the Mahoe tree in south florida and the islands. we had millions of them all year feeding on the leaf and pod litter under the trees. i believe they call them Cotton Stainers. i'll have to do some research to find the correct name.

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! I did the research(thanks to you....) and found that they are indeed called the Cotton Stainer Bugs...Scientific name: Dysdercus decussatus

thank you too. seeing the picture and reading about them brought back a lot of memories of my years living in the Keys. these bugs were a permanent fixture in my yard, driveway, etc. and after a while you just become oblivious to them.
