Collecting seeds from Thrift or Sea Thrift

Holladay, UT(Zone 5a)

Does anyone here know how to collect seeds from Thrift or Sea Thrift? I've always cut off the blooms as soon as they are done so that they keep blooming, but would love to try growing some from seed if possible. They are one of my favorites! It may be easier to divide the plants, but I've never tried doing that. I just cut off a spend flower, and searched through it, but couldn't find anything that looks like seed!

Thanks for any help!

Natalie,

You must leave the flower on the plant until it's completely dried. When it starts to fall apart, it's the best time to collect them. See http://theseedsite.co.uk/profile518.html for a clear picture of the seeds.

Jonna, you are so helpful! I knew I had to leave the flowers on until they were dry, and I did take a completely dried one apart yesterday, but couldn't find anything that looked like seed. Now I know what to look for!

Thanks for your help!
