In the past week i am noticing these insects on my avocado tree and crape myrtles. my crape myrtle leaves seem to be turning reddish on the edges and looking very dry and curled. i am wondering if the bugs have anythign to do with it or if there is some other issue? Are they harmful to the plants/trees...... and if so, how do i get rid of them?
what are these bugs and are they hurting my trees?
solved! from what i found, they look like citrus root weevils. now the question is...how do i get rid of them?! sounds kind of complicated from what i have been reading, since you have to control them in stages, from larvae to adult.... they feed on the roots of the tree and babies and as adults they work their way up and eat the leaves. not good news for my newly plated avocado tree :( any tips????
