colorado blue spruce problem

what caused colorado blue spruce to loose its needles? The plant was doing very well through winter and spring, but start to loose its needles when temperatures reached around 99F. It is put in bright shade, misted regularly, fertized with slow release fertilizer. I live in Texas, zone 7b. Is it possible that it doesn't like the heat?

Second question is will the needles regrow ? Thank you for any advice.
