Blooms #9
Is that one of those big fat gold slugs??? Oh, I killed a huge one today out there in all this gloomy weather.
I love all the pics...lupine #7 is so pretty. The peanut cactus bloom is cool too! I'd kill to be able to grow poppies. I have some , but they are miserable without enough sun.
LOL Nor!! Yes it sure is! He was eyeing my hosta's but he did not live long after that photo!!!
Oh my!! Lots of beuties, love the vesuvius, irises and the verbascums. Celeste, the lupines are stunning.
Thinking of planting deer/ bunny/ ground hog resistant plants near the gazebo/ creek any ideas?
Thanks Rama.
Bunnies like everything:(

Some great isolation shots there Pixie!
- Carolina Moonlight, "different sib...no idea", Northern Mist, and the best shot of all, "#7" of the lupines!
Very nice!
Great lupines, especially the dark ones!
Gonna be a new photo contest, sponsored by DG and Horticulture mag, with the winning pic earning $1000 and will appear in the mag.
Hope they don't allow heavily Photoshoped and Topazed/ HDR images, I don't like competing with cartoons.
- Any $ or prizes for second & 3rd place??
Edit: removed question mark and substituted with comma after "images".
(- don't know why I corrected it except that it bothers me looking at it.. lol!)

Thanks WC & Victor!
Hope there is a method to determine which is software enhansed and which is camera talent.
Funny how they have that 'proven winners' adv up, but they haven't said anything about the Horticulture mag, contest, maybe I missed it somewhere...
Don't think they have announced it yet. Usually I get a heads-up first on these things. ^_^
loved the celeste parade!
Victor, I love you New Dawn rose. I bought one this year. Can't wait till mine looks like that.
SOJ, that Zuzu and Sorbet peony sure is pretty. The pic of the petunias with the birdhouse is very nice. I also like the one of the Blue Ice Amsonia with the weigelia in the b.g.
Jen, that comment by me was in this thread, the one previous. Yes, it was a garden tour for $30. They are pricey around here, though that's the most expensive I've seen so far. Usually they are around $20 or $25. Don't know how many houses it was. I think it was in Hingham, which is a pricey neighborhood. I did one in Cambridge, MA several years ago. It was really nice. Did another a couple years after that in Hanson and Pembroke, MA, which are very close to me. Some friends of mine were on that tour. That was a good one, too, though it was a hot day.
Weeze, this pic of the NOID hosta could be Emerald Tiara. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=8620835
Meredith, I still have tons of stuff I haven't done. That's always the case for me. One of my problems this year was there was so much cleanup work to do, more so than usual, as I was sick last fall with asthma, so very little got done. Still trying to catch up here. BTW, I have not heard of Dragonhead before. A new one on me.
Karen
LOL Thanks BIll!
yeah for your bloom Celeste!!.. hhmm wonder if the other I bought is not the same.. mine looked more salmon colored.. or was it your light?
Victor the contest was listed in yesterdays article
