This spider is right now on the inside of the screen of my office patio door. I opened the door for a second to snap the picture and closed it real fast. I'm generally not afraid of spiders etc., but this one is too big to want in my house. My husband measured it and it was about 3 inches from top to bottom, leg tip to leg tip.

Can anyone tell me what it is?

Thank goodness I don't have those around my place. It looks like a tarantula! I'm generally not afraid of spiders either, but that one would scare me and send me running and screaming like a girl! LOL

Yeah, if he had fallen off the screen one of the zillion times I went in and out before noticing him... ugh! He was more frightened of us than we were of him. Once I realized that, he wasn't as scary to me. We scooted him outside where he hid behind the downspout. I saw him there for a couple of days and then lost track of him. Wonder if he's still there.
