We live in Lancaster, PA. We saw this very large spider (about 2.5" including the legs) last evening (June 7, 2011). It was outside on our porch. We live at the woods edge and about 100' from a river. Can you please help identify it?

This appears to be a fishing spider, probably Dolomedes tenebrosus. See http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/fishing-spider for more information. You can also find more pictures here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/2011/bgimage
Thank you for your opinion that this may be a fishing spider. I thought it looked like a fishing spider based on some quick internet 'fishing' (forgive the pun), but couldn't find info on a fishing spider as large as this one. I will look into the sites you provided. Again, thank you!
