This afternoon I walked out to my garden to find thousands of these tiny bugs crawling over the dirt and garden wall. They don't seem to be eating my plants, but if they decide to my whole garden will be gone. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Did you ever find out what these are? I have them too and can't figure it out :(
These look like Lygaeid nymphs to me, but this is only a guess. Lygaeidae is a large family that is often referred to as "seed bugs". Many feed on seeds, while others feed on plant juices. Perhaps someone else can narrow it down further.
