Lilies are starting here in my Long Island Garden.
This is first flower open on Best Seller.
Lillies Blooming for me.
My gosh Rita. Is there any type or color you DON'T have? They are all beautiful and I have weeks to wait. At least I have managed to have two bearded iris with huge buds. There is no rhyme or reason to their survival up here. But I do love them when they are kind enough to survive the winter.
I love to have lots of flowers and want something blooming in the garden all season from early spring until frost. So I do have lots of things here to try and make that happen.
I also try to have a constant bloom, but it seems like I need to spread the bloomers around a little. I hope pots of lots of color and then spots with color coming in a week or two (or three). It is further complicated by making sure the short guys are in front, and stuff needing support or cages have enough room for those supports. I know I need more bushes to fill in and give life and color between the herbaceous stuff, but I hate to keep digging up my garden in an attempt to attain something better. it just keeps setting it back or outright killing stuff. I forget sometimes that some stuff also wants less water even if it would look just PERFECT where I planted in, amidst water loving stuff. sigh. never ending.
I've been adding and moving things around for over 20 years and still working at it.
Blackout is really pretty!
Blackout looks like it almost has a violet hue to it. Like that color!
