CLOSED: Bug id Please.

What is the this bug it files in swarms at night up in the mountains next to the lake it gets all over my boat and truck it is yellow about the size of a gnat if not smaller.

i'm not 100% certain, but they could be midges. that's not a real technical description as the name applies to many species of tiny winged insects that hover around water or in damp/dimly lit areas. we have midges in our backyard that like to fly around our pool (which is a bit like a pond at this point...long story there). some bite but most don't. their main purpose is frog, bat, and bigger insect food.
