I have perhaps a dozen spiders building webs under the eaves of my house and adjacent the screened porch. These are shady areas, with a northern and eastern exposure. They just started appearing about a month ago (late April, early May). I live in SW Florida. A photo is attached.

Thank you, Lady Ashley. Now I know what I'm dealing with. I generally don't disturb spiders, as I consider them benign. And, these are so beautifully coloured. I've been brushing them away when they become too numerous - but I wanted to be sure I wasn't setting myself up for a nasty our poisonous bite.
