We recently saw this lovely young (ten years) garden in Silverton, Oregon while on vacation. There were many interesting conifers and I took a lot of pictures for inspiration and garden planning. I'll share a few in this thread.
Visit to Oregon Garden conifers
But oh so pretty!
Very nice, Weerobin. You can always move some in the older beds. I read a book on conifers awhile ago where the guy was saying we are generally way too timid about moving established plants. He would dig around the plant one year, move it the next (to give severed roots time to develop new rootlets). I agree with you that dwarf conifers are hard to resist. I took many, many more pictures than I posted here. If I had my way, I'd convert most of our lawn to conifer beds.
Although I live only about an hour's drive away, I haven't visited the Oregon Gardens since it was about 3 years old.
I can see that it is definitely time to make another trip down there.
Thanks for posting!
