I saw one and now I've seen a stack of about 100... what is it? Good or bad for my garden?
CLOSED: red bug? no, not a lady...
should have done more research before posting - this is a Red-Shouldered Bug: Jadera haematoloma
http://www.colostate.edu/Dept/CoopExt/4dmg/Pests/red.htm
Also should have added this is Atlanta, GA - zone 7 and I have never seen this bug before
did it have white stripes on the bottom part?
i posted a query a couple days ago. I need to know if mine is good or bad. but mine looked similar, although not as much black on the back, and mine had white stripes (sideways stripes; not long-ways) on it.
sounds like yours might be a boxelder bug or a milkweed bug?
This actually a Eastern box elder bug (Boisea Trivittata/ Milkweed Bug) nymph. If you Google it you'll find that the pictures will actually look like it, instead of kind of looking like it.
YEPPERS! that's what it was; thanks.
