love the dry bed area Karen.. I had to stake a bunch of my irises after the storm yesterday morning.. nice that the blue one will stand up for you..

pretty CB JoAnn

I preferr the mediens and borders, they dont fall in a wind. We usually get one storm with wind just as the iris are blooming and 1 day after the oriental poppies open.

my poppies didn't pop yet.. almost though

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

My OP's are budded. I hope I get more than 1 open at a time.

Thanks Allison. I do have a lot of TBI's that I had to stake. Did about half of them last Tues or Wed, and the other half on Sun, as the wind was knocking them down. One bed looks spectacular this year. So many TBI's blooming. I sprayed with a systemic pesticide this year with Merit in it, so I'm hoping that will keep the borers out.

Yes, Jo, that's a repeat, but that's okay. Still nice to look at again.

Very nice, Abby. Maybe you should just stay away! ^_^

Stamford, CT

haha Victor! Too bad the bugs and weeds advance faster than the stuff I cultivate, need to keep up on that stuff almost twice a day.

Do you know what these bugs are? Maybe ladybugs morphing?

Those are subtle color changed Marilyn. Neat shadows and ruffles.
Did you paint it?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love all blue irises!!

Thomaston, CT

Drew them for most of the time period....put one layer of waters on them.....very light wash of cobalt blue on 2, the cobalt charged with permanent magenta on the third....many hours left on it....will have to finish it in dry brush.....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful iris's Robin!!!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I love watching the colors merge on wet paper.
I doubt I would get into 2 flowers. Its a beautiful subject.
Which Variety is it?

Thomaston, CT

The one on top with all the colors is Charming Billy from Joe Pye Weed's.......don't know what the other 2 are......maybe Roaring Jelly for the pink.....

Thanks, guys.

Jo, I like the Carolina Moonlight baptisia. I have one similar called Solar Flare. Just love it.

Gorgeous black and blue pansy, Celeste, and that pink impatiens is wonderful.

Marilyn, I love those sibs.

Abby, your peach poppy is definitely luscious.
