Indeed, I'm very lucky. Very lucky; when I watered my garden this evening. I discovered eight more new BST eggs on my parsley and fennels container. My patience is paying off. I've waited all growing season for this moment. Now, only if Monarch will arrive and gift the garden with some jewels. For there are abundant host plants awaiting for the monarch arrival here. Also there are various flowers for nectar for those visitors.
A stranger came to visit
Cat! ((((me waving!!!)))) Good to see you girl. I think about you down there when ever I see the situation on the Texas border. Always say a little prayer too for your safety. Keep up the good work, glad you are finally getting some help on the way.
Yeah !!!
Congrats Lily - how fun!
Thanks Flyboy and memays, I was so happy to have found it was successfully morphed. At the mean time, I lost several smaller cats. I afraid they needed some sunlight (?). Anyway, I cleaned out the cage (saw some mold on the potting soil of the parsley host plant). I replaced a new pot of parsley to the mix. Moved the housing to a spot in the kitchen where they get some light.
I now have roughly ten of those various instars. If only these will grow and thrive for me, for the world do need more butterflies.
I'm dreaming big! :)
The local sources are all out of parsley -- so I am starting my own. (Too much heat, I guess.)
The BST's are still around so I am hoping they have patience -- and eggs,
Be well

You are lucky. I am waiting for mine to germinate.

flyboyFL, have those parsley seeds germinated and taking off? Here in my garden, butterfly garden. I've one Eastern Black Swallowtail butterfly eclosed, and released a moment ago. There are 5 pupae, one 5th instar wandering about -- getting ready to pupate. And roughly a dozen cats. happily eating their Fennels and parsley in a clear caterpillar cage.
Lovely pic of the artwork Lily!! Where was that taken?
Hi Shelia, what 'artwork' are you referring to. BTW, yesterday I released another Eastern BST. Today I released another one. 6 on the counting. 16 more in chrysalis stage. Yahoo!

Oh, that's one of many art pieces displayed at the Huntsville Botanical garden in North Alabama, a couple hours commute from where I am. :)
It is very pretty! Do they have a live butterfly exhibit?
I will keep that one in mind next time I drive east. We visited the Calloway Gardens in Georgia one year; small exhibit but very well set up.
