Looking for Magnolia wood

Hi all. My father makes fishing rods and I would like one made from Magnolia.
Does anyone have (or can get) a nice 3 foot hunk of Magnolia wood? Would need to be about 5" or more in diameter.
Please d-mail me if you have any suggestions.
I posted on Craigslist in Memphis area - thought with all the flooding there may be trees that didn't make it (and I used to live down there) But CL isn't used there like it is here in Mpls area.
