Today I harvested amaryllis seeds. They look like undersized, purplish-black to dark brown Communion wafers (if you know what I mean). They are so wispy-thin and dark, they do not look anything like some amaryllis seeds that I recall harvesting a couple of years ago (just out of curiosity), but never planted.
Short of planting them, is there some way to know if the seeds are viable? Thanks to any and all for reading and for any help!
How to tell amaryllis seeds are viable?
I am a little embarrassed, a day later, to reply to my own post. But I always underestimate how much information is accessible on line for self-help.
Shortly after I posted yesterday, I found other discussions in Dave's Garden, and other websites. Here is a good link to some general info: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071224054208AAAS3di
Happy amaryllis growing to all!
