I'm thinking of driving down to central Texas to look for some Prunus texana shrubs to get seeds some time this summer, but it
would help if I knew where to look instead of just driving around and getting lost (and potentially coming home empty-handed).
So, has anyone living around the Llano uplift (or the Gulf Coast) seen any of them and can point me in the right direction?

Texas peachbush
I don't know that plant Brandon. Are the fruits edible?
I believe so. I know that I've at least heard of people using them to make wine or preserves. They're endemic to the Edwards plateau
and the lower Rio Grande valley, according to NPIN.

That is cool.
Well, I drove down to central Texas yesterday to look for some peachbush. No luck. But that's alright, because
I got to see more of my state. I grabbed some jars of dirt from the counties I haven't been to before, and a jar of
water from the Guadalupe river, and I also got some very neat rocks from the riverbank. There's two with some
beautiful swirlig patterns, an adder stone, a big calcite block, and several brownish chalcedony type stones. I
saw wildflowers that I don't get to see up here in the DFW area (I hate to say it, but our plants seem a bit plainer
than all the other parts of Texas), and a whole bunch of honey mesquite growing beautifully in the wild. I'm just a
tiny bit closer now to my goal of going everywhere in Texas than I was a few days ago.
Next year I'll scout ahead during March, when the peachbush are blooming. They'll be much easier to spot then,
and then I'll try again, knowing exactly where to look. In the meantime, have some pictures!

The flower in the third picture is a rose, and I have news for you, all the other flowers you showed us grow here too, you just haven't seen them.
I am glad that you went exploring, I love to do that, so many neat things to see.
Josephine.
