Time to spill the beans

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Donna, you have several more days that you don't have to worry about it... these are the only opportunity to set it aside... right now... I know this is easier said than done... but worry when you HAVE to and keep these days for other things. You can't go back to yesterday... so before today is yesterday, set it aside for a while and think about something else..

There are a zillion horror stories, but for every horror story there are stories of miracles or just a great outcome.

This is real easy for me to say, sitting here at my computer... but I hope just the few minutes it takes for you to read this, that you feel positive and know someone here in California loves you and cares that you are strong.

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

Well put ZZ............ That was awesome...

Richmond, TX

You have at least one Texan on your side too. I am willing you to be well and worry-free.

My mother always said that if there was nothing you could do about a situation there was absolutely no reason to worry about it. Not easy, perhaps. but of course she was right.

(Zone 6b)

Porkpal your mother was correct, but how do you tame the brain?

Faith is the only thing that keeps me sane, and even then my brain will remember something very painful to me, for no particular reason.

Geez i am sure sorry that i mentioned anything about smoking..i didnt realize that alot of people would take it to heart..it is our personal decision to live our life the way we want..and if we choose to smoke then it is our life we take into our own hands..
so from now on i will not mention anything personal about my life or anyone elses..
dont want to ruffle any feathers..

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I don't think you started anything Cindy.. I felt the same way though.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

no ruffled feathers here Cindy.

Ferndale, WA

Cindy, I'm grateful you brought it up. There is nothing more refreshing than things that clear the air. Sure there are opinions that abound, but I love what Annie said. An opinion that is shared out of concern for those that you love is valuable, however an opinion that is harsh and void of understanding is cruel and totally unnecessary. I don't like smoking, but I love a lot of smokers. The idea that what worked for me works for everyone is sheer nonsense. There are those who do indeed enjoy a cigarette and I don't believe anyone of us has a right to intrude upon their free choice. Annie I don't care how many times you fail, you will always be a princess here, and I tip my hat for your efforts. Donna, Cindy, ZZ's and anyone else that smokes, Your smoking has not changed my mind one ounce. I value you, and remain grateful to the Lord for your friendship. It is incredible what you have added to my personal life...I love you ladies and thank God for you. It saddens me that anyone should talk down to anyone here. We should pray, encourage, and lift one another. This will not be the first nor the last time, that sharing personal things has brought some pain and misunderstanding. I do believe however these type's of things tend to bring us even closer together...While painful good things come out of them, especially when we forgive and dare to reach out again. I'm reminded of the fact that the little turtle never get anywhere without sticking his neck out...Hay

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Well said Hay

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Donna, there are 2 things I do that help me when I tend to worry. One may seem silly but it has helped me for years. There used to be a little animated "cartoon" on TV called Jot the Dot. He was a little dot that was used to teach kids Godly values and principles. He was afraid and his Mom told him to repeat the verse, "I will trust and not be afraid". I repeat it to myself often like a prayer and God rises up in my spirit and gives me peace. I also think of the verse in Romans that says, "If God be for us, who can be against us?"

The second thing I think of is, "Face the thing you fear the most and the death of fear is certain." If you turn your back on something and run, it gets bigger, faster and more scarey. Turn and face it and you take away it's power. You and God can face anything and defeat it. You and God are a majority. Learn all you can about your situation so it has no power of you. Then give it to God to take care of.

I am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason. Some things we bring on ourselves, some things others bring on us. I also believe that some things God allows, for the knowledge and or strength we will ultimately gain from it. Whatever the reason, there IS a reason and God is in control if we give Him control. Nothing takes Him by suprise. He remembers the past, sees the present and knows the future. And His will for you is to "give you a future and a hope" as it tells us in Jeremiah.
Trust God and honor Him with the size of your request.

I am of the same mind as you about the DNR. I would never want to "live" like that and I would never want to be a burden on my family. I will not claw and scratch to hang on to this world because this world is not my home. My home is awaiting me in Heaven. I pray I will see all my family there but if they don't make it I won't know it then. That would make me sad and there are no tears in Heaven. All I can do is try to influence them while I am here so we can all share Heaven together. But we will each answer for ourselves.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Hay, we cross posted. I agree with every word you said. You are very insightful. You should be a minister. LOL

ME TO

(Zone 6b)

I looked up Jot the Dot and it is on youtube. New to me, wonder why they didn't show that in Texas? Maybe they have it on dvd's now and I could find some for my grandson. It looks great! We sure need to teach these little ones morals so they have something to stand on through this life. Great news in my family, my daughter went to church last Sunday. For those who have prayed for her, thank you. Don't stop.

Cajun I am so glad you said all that. That was honestly amazing. You have no idea how many times I stop my fingers from typing something as simple as "Thank God".

You are all a blessing to me. I enjoy being here among you.

Honeysuckle smells great too. You can smell it all over the yard when it blooms.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I like honeysuckle too. Don't see it as much here as at the last place.

I love that daylily. Daylilies are my favorite along with rhodedendrons and azelias. The wild orange ditch lilies will be blooming soon.

Do lilacs grow from seeds. Seems I have seen them on a seed rack. I'd likie to grow more flowers but right now all my limited get up and go is going into the veggies.

This was in my friend's yard. They are all but finished now.

I am set for the tumor removal next Tuesday. My wonderful Hematologist gave me the shots to get off the coumadin. 2 boxes. One for the tumor surgery and 1 for the neck surgery. That saved me 400 dollars in co pays. This stuff runs about 1200 a box. I am so thrilled as we have put out so much already seeing all the Drs and having the test run. Haven't gotten the ER bill yet

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Better to owe them than to beat 'em out of it. LOL

(Zone 6b)

Donna, I hope all goes well. They do so much with tubes, cameras and lazers these days. Is it bad of me to ask what they plan to do?

Richmond, TX

I'll be sending positive vibes your way next Tuesday. It sounds like your luck is improving already - a new trend, right?

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

Hugs and Billy and I will be sitting on the porch thinking about you Tuesday... We will say a special prayer...

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

it is going to be the tube with camera unless something happens or they find more than can be done with the scope. Then they will have to cut me open. I'm am not afraid of the procedure it is it will be so embarrising for me. Why does it always have to be men messing with a womens privates especially young handsome ones lol. I was fearing a blood clot but I stop the coumadin tomorrow start the shots until the day of the surgery, nothing that day, then the next day I start back with the shots and coumadin for 5 days, then just the coumadin. My Hematologist relieved most of my fears of throwing a clot. She really great and spent a lot of time with me and checked me over good and really blew me away when she gave me 2 boxes of the very expensive shots. At least now it is only 1 shot a day instead of 2 like before. They burn like fire and makes it very hard to do to yourself. Glad i brought her some duck and chicken eggs. She was thrilled. Everyone I have given duck eggs to have never had them before

Thank you all for the prayers and moral support. Come on new upward trend and don't stop until we are done

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

I gave my neighbor the last of my turkey eggs a few weeks ago and he was so happy he did not charge me for water. Today he came over and helped me change a battery and I gave him another doz of eggs and he said he will fill up my water tank.. I want to pay him but he says the eggs are enough... I think I am getting the good end of the deal...

Richmond, TX

Long live the barter system!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

love a good barter myself

(Zone 5b)

Sounds like the news is getting better and better, Donna, YAY! Bring your surgeon some eggs too.
I always bring eggs (marans) or some treats when I have my scans done. I think it helps them to remember who you are and everyone is so much friendlier. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers!

(Zone 5b)

MissJ,
Love bartering, good job. Duck eggs.. he's getting a pretty good deal I think. Good neighbors are a blessing.

Ferndale, WA

Donna Remember that ole Willie Nelson song. You are always on my mind. Karen and I both will spend much of Tuesday in prayer just for you. What a blessing you have been here on this forum...We love you Donna...Howie & Karen

(Zone 6b)

Wonder how Donna is doing.

(Zone 5b)

Me too. Hope she checks in when she can.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Been on my mind all day too. :) Come on Donna! We love you and want to know you are okay! :)
