Nothing better to do during this total weekend rainout,
so I figured I'd share some pictures of the trees and shrubs blooming in my neck of the woods.
My stewartia rostrata is starting to bloom.
No sign of my other stewartias opening up yet.
Mid-late spring flowering trees/shrubs
Lovely photos, thanks for posting!
Resin is going to be all over you with spell-Czechs...
Nice bunch of images. I've been out in the rainy day hanging labels on stuff that was lacking. No chance for pics, unless I wanted to drown the camera. I can report that all the Viburnum dentatum and Viburnum dilatatum are kicking it up a notch, and the Viburnum cassinoides are in full tilt and some slightly past. American Holly is just getting started.
Mulberries are dropping their catkin-like flowers (similar to Broussonetia). Bignonia capreolata 'Tangerine' is finally fading after several weeks of wonder, as are the Aesculus pavia.
The Amur Honeysuckle is showing off like no other - till I wrench it out.
Thanks for the heads up, VV.
I edited euscaphis before being outed.
As for stuartia, I'm not going there...
I also spent some gratifying time in yesterday's steady drizzle to pull wild onions and their brethren. My wife made me undress in the garage, not only because of the dripping wet clothes, but the stench. I presume she was referring to the onions.
