CLOSED: brown spider that resembles a black widow

vancouver, Canada

Yesterday I found a chestnut colored spider that resembled a black widow, the only differences I could see was that it was brown and did not have any identifiable markings. I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea what kind of spider this may be. Thanks for any help.

A photo would be extremely helpful

I didn't think to take one at the time unfortunately. It just looked exactly like a black widow, except it was brown.

There are brown widow spiders that look similar to the black widow. Could that have been what you saw?

or a cobweb weaver or any number of similar looking species...

My first thought was that it was a brown black widow spider, however there were no markings on its belly. I think LadyAshely may be right, it may have possibly been a cobweb weaver. Thanks for the help everybody.
