Onondaga viburnum

I just wanted to share the spring foliage of our Onondaga viburnum. This is one of my favorite viburnums.

Just one favorite?

Do you have a pollinating partner for 'Onondaga'? If not, you might consider adding another Sargent Viburnum to your landscape, and watch the loads of fruit form.

There are several Viburnum sargentii selections available. I'd suggest one like Chiquita™, especially if space is limited.

Here's what that compact version can look like...

VV, thanks for the suggestion, but I do have another sargentii, just can't remember which one right now.I also have a V. trilobum.I think I read on one of your previous posts( need all the help that I can get!!) it should work, right? Did I mention that I love viburums....especially big 'uns.

If you are already getting good fruiting, then you are doing it right.

Sargent Viburnum sure qualifies as a big 'un. If you need more, try Siebold Viburnum (Viburnum sieboldii) - if you haven't already.

The Onondaga was here, when we moved in last spring, and it is a mature speciment. I brought a few others with me , but this is the first year that the trilobum has bloomed, so I know it wasn't the pollinater.Onondaga did fruit last year tho, so I'm not sure if it was the other sargent viburnum, or another in the neighborhood. There is an old house next door that no one lives in, and it has a beautiful viburnum( at least, I think it is a viburnum)....maybe it was that one. I love viburnums! I looked up Viburnum sieboldii, and WOW...another huge beauty, that I am gonna be watchin' for, for sure! Thanks, for sharing all your knowledge of viburnums!
