This is probably a longshot, but I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of who lives here. This was a pretty significant web, as seen by the bee for scale. Found in San Jose, CA. Thanks for any assistance.

My thoughts are a funnel web spider of some kind. I get those same webs in my yard. If you stand back and brush the edge of the web a few times, you may see the owner emerge.
