Well I've seen these in various rooms around my house but only occasionally. There are usually just one or two at a time. They have six legs and appear to have small, stubby wings although I've not seem them actually fly. Last few times I have spotted them on curtains near the windows.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ok never mind. I found out that it is a Crataerina hirundinis, or flat fly. We have swallows nesting in the sides of our roof which maybe where they seem to have appeared from. Disgusting little things, these flies =$
