While camping last year, this bug flew on my husbands leg. He was not aggressive but we had never seen anything like him in all of our years of being outdoors.Camping, fishing etc.
Does anyone know what it is or any history on it.

Looks like a newly emerged Pink striped oakworm moth.
It's wings aren't dry yet, so it wouldn't be able to fly properly =).
Probably:
Southern Pink-striped Oakworm Moth (Anisota virginiensis pellucida)
