Wow, I didn't realize Datura was Jimson weed. Oh my!
The small book we discussed here a couple of years ago Wicked Weeds has a cool article on the Jimson weed that mentions the role they played in our country's history
I planted some seeds of the 2x purple last summer and it was late in the season so it didn't bloom until it was due to frost so I put on the back porch and it bloomed until the hard freeze ,I then moved the container outside and covered with a huge pile of trimmings from the Clematis ..Now I am just waiting and hoping that it survived the winter ..It did not produce any seeds so I can only hope it survives...
