We planted a 3 foot crepe myrtle last year. This year the leaves came out fine, but soon small yellow spots appeared on top of the leaves, Now there are small holes on the underside too. We don't see any bugs(thought maybe aphids) but anyone have ideas?
Crepe myrtle leaf damage
Do a google search on downy mildew and leaf spot.
From pictures it does sort of look like downy mildew. What was confusing was the damage appeared only to be between the veins of the leaves, like something was attacking it only there, rather than throughout the entire leaf.I am familiar with powdery mildew and it doesn't look like that. I don't see any spore material, but not any insects either....
Yeah I noticed the pattern too. The only thing I can think of there is that somehow the veins are resistant and so it is not getting near them.
