Congrats!
Teddy's birds
Wow Congratulations teddy! That is very exciting.
Sorry but I think the pics are too blurry for much improvement but you will get better now that you have the initial shots taken.
Do you want to hear something strange? We were in the side yard burning some wood and heard what sounded like the Pileated Woodpecker, I could not see him but my hubby did, of course we did not have the camera at the time. But the Cottonwood tree seems to be attracting him for some reason, I know it was him because of the laugh, but I did not get a glimpse of him, my hubby did for just a second. Could they get used to people long enough to come around more often? I think it might be the ants that is attracting him, there are a LOT of ants in the tree. Whatever it is, I hope he sticks around, my hubby also heard him this morning and said he made his presence known. I don't know why but I love it.
We can sit on our back porch and the larger male will come in and eat the suet while we are out there...as long as we stay pretty still. The smaller male and the female won't...at least not yet.
just had a visit from a young male pileated, he didn't stay long enough to get a picture, but if I am not wrong, that means we have a nesting pair, because a young one won't go very far from the nest. Did not see where he went when he left.
Congratulation Teddy, Hope they will continue their visit to your feeder. It only happen to me one Summer that a Pileated visited my yard, and lost all the pictures, I took of it .:(
This little fellow has been coming around quite a lot recently, he does not seem to eat any of the bread I throw out for the others, he seems maily interested in the suet, but he is so cute and tiny I had to get a pic of him. He is called a chipping sparrow. He does not seem too afraid of us, he gets pretty close.
Nice ones teddy!
We were sitting in the glider in our side yard and saw a mated pair of Flickers fly past and land in the yard across from us, the female has been flying around here lately but I thought it was the female rb wp. So I snuck in and got my hubby's and my cameras and here is one of mine. She seems to like the cherry suet cake we have in the feeder.
Nice Flickers Teddy. You seem to be in the right location, for Woodpeckers.
