Well, what did you think?? Seems much harder to me than any of the others so far. The water thing and having to stay awake at night far outweighs what the other 2 had to go through. Do you think Diane lied?
Survivor 10-11
Have not watched it yet -- on tape waiting for DH!!
Don't read this thread til you watch it!!!!!
tiG, This does seem to be a much harder show and more dangerous. The water they have to drink is sickening even if it is boiled. And yes, I do think that Diane lied. The show doesn't show everything so hopefully they have someone in the background to protect against the wild animals.I just can't believe they would just throw them out there in the middle of the jungle with no protection.
I know!! lions close by, wild lions! is not a good thing:) I think she lied too, but Clarence was still wrong too. That was a very tough immunity challenge, and one team working without water was really pushing them to the limit!
I too thought Diane lied. But my hubby didn't..lol But I was sure that they were going to get rid of the extra cherry eating guy (forgot his name) But they went with Diane. More so becuase she was weak than for anything else. After they did that I understood. But heck you can't have someone stealing the food for goodness sakes.
Definately going to be a very hard game. And if they thought the last group of survivors looked bad, wait until we see these ones, they are going to be by far the worst looking come the end of this show.
Holly
I think Diane lied, too. She seemed pushy like Deb did last year, and didn't figure she'd last long anyway. That'd really stink to collapse like that after the first challenge. Well, shoot, I'd never even make it to *camp* for pete's sake, or probably even qualify to get there in he first place! Two-Cherry-Clarence is going to be fighting an uphill battle, and I think the goat farmer Tommy will really butt heads with him (no pun intended).
I was hoping that they would vote Clarence out. Before the tribal counsel, Trish suggested that they would keep him and vote out Diane in order to win challenges.
I told her I hoped that didn't happen because "might makes not right". Clarence is a powerful man, but cannot be trusted.
Firstly, he took more than his share of cherries, establishing that he is willing to be selfish at the expense of the rest of the team.
Then, under the defense of "helping out Diane", he opened a can of beans. Well, if he was just helping her out, then why did he also help himself to some of the food as well? It seems to me that he wouldn't eat any of it.
Lastly, he HID the can from the group before their return, cementing his guilt in my opinion.
I think Diane told the truth, and I think Clarence is extremely untrustworthy, sneaky, and a liar. I was disappointed that the wrong message was sent in that vote (it's okay to be untrustworthy, as long as you are physically strong).
Another noteworthy thing: The Boran tribe figured something out early about the water - dig a deep hole so they could scoop the water out easier. The other team is still skimming off the top 1" of muck. I was impressed that the Boran (is that the right name?) tribe has some people who have a "work smarter, not harder" attitude. They have a better chance, in my opinion.
All in all, a good starting episode with some very interesting players. I can't wait till next Thursday!
Dave
Well as in all shows, I have watched they all lie ,cheat, and can't be trusted.
I am like Dave Clarence should have gone for stealing.
But who's to say that Diane didn't lie, they don't show you that, they only show you what the producers want you to see so they can keep you off gaurd.
The Boran tribe dose seem to have smarter people on it and will show more promise, but it is a game and the smallest flaw can throw off the game.
Looking forward to next week.
Mike
I think they both lied. But as a woman, if he had put all the blame on me, you can bet your bottom dollar, I'd be up in his face telling what really happened. I think they took the food together, knowingly. I think if they could have gotten rid of both of them, they would have and should have.
I thought using the magnifying lens was brilliant!! Don't you know, the other team will kick themselves when they open that first aid kit and see that. They should have been looking in everything they got.
I like the goat farmer, he's funny so far. I wish I'd watched last week when they introduced them, I feel like I'm behind, trying to get to know these people.
Intersting story since I missed my Survivor show!
I thought Diane lied too. I agree with dave they should have voted Clarence off. This does look a lot harder. Looks like a good one.
I missed most of the show because DH hates all reality shows and he was in a BAD mood last night. He had a very bad day at the office.
I saw the first 5 minutes or so and the tribal counsel at the end. I missed the challenges. :(
What did Diane possibly lie about?
I should have set up the VCR to tape it. I won't miss the next show.
She got really sick from no water and the heat, and almost passed out on the immunity challenge, which was very hard. Lots of climbing while they pushed-pulled a large cart full of wood. When they got back to camp, the others went looking for water (?) and Clarence stayed to take care of her. They took a can of beans and ate them while the others were gone. Hid the can. Clarence said he opened the beans, she asked him to so it would make her feel better. He ate some too. But while he was blaming the whole thing on her, she laid there and then softly said 'i didn't ask for him to open the beans'. Not me buddy, I'd have been all over him, sick or not, if he'd blamed that on me and he was guilty too. They kept him because he's strong, but to me there's no such thing as a strong thief. Okay, maybe I'm a little harsh, but when you take food out of a limited source and eat it without permission, that's stealing or close to it.
They have to keep 2 people awake at night to ward off animals. Boil their water, and they get it from some nasty looking places. These people are gonna look like skeletons when they get through.
Thank you VERY much for filling me in on what I missed last night. DH and I have very different taste in TV plus he's a channel surfer. I'm looking forward to next week.
hehehe Thanks for filling us in too - it hasn't started yet here in Australia!
oops!!!!!!!!! :(
We'll have to be VERY careful when we post about the final episode so we don't spoil it for our Aussie friends!
I think all Survivor fans should know that these threads will contain spoilers, and that's why we will always put the date in the subject field.
So, when you haven't seen the episode shown on the date yet, then don't go in there until then!
there you go!!!!
ANOTHER reason I LOVE dave's garden, where else can I talk about all the things I love PLUS my favorite tv show!! I thought both Diane and Clarence were dishonest. I thought that Frank guy was a little pushy too. He is making himself stand out and that is NOT the thing to do. I can't wait until next week. It usually takes me a couple of weeks to get everyodys names down.
me too hummer. and even which team is which!! I kept getting them mixed up, but by the end of the show, we'll know them all:) Frank was the military guy??
Dave, is that an order, or just a suggestion? I was so looking forward to teasing my teenagers by pre-empting what was going to happen!! :)
Pam
Suggestion, of course. :)
Hey for all those who missed the first episode, they are replaying it Wednesday night.
