By it' s growth habit, I am guessing it is a tree. Was a tiny tagalong with another plant I purchased and has grown alot. I am afraid I had better move it to a better spot soon, but would like to know what it is first.
Tonya
Please ID this tree/shrub
I suspect you have a Willow seedling there (Salix sp.).
Thanks VV. I was guessing the same thing. Thanks!
What a nice "bonus" plant! I sometimes get bonus moss with my purchased plants and am delighted by that, too.
If it's a Willow sapling, that thing will get huge, after many years of course.
Huge in not very many years, actually! Move it at the first opportunity.
Resin
Thanks everyone. I dug it up and put it in a large pot as I am not sure where I will plant it yet. It fussed a bit, lost the top half of the tree, but has now grow new branches and is as tall as it was before I dug it up. Glad to have it!
The form looks odd - perhaps a Ficus? (fig family) - remove leaf, if white sap = ficus - check buds if fully formed at base of leaf stalk - if bud has single scale (1 cap) = willow... my 2 cents.
