Hi fellow gardeners....I sure hope someone can help me with this question. My yr. old Strictocardia beraviensis started blooming for me about a month ago and I can't remember ever being SO in love with a flower....lol! I am desperate to get some more plants, in case something happens to this one, and I'm hoping to do it from seeds.
I have been saving those little teardrop-shaped parts with the little string-looking thing sticking out the ends, left from where the done flowers have dropped off. I've been letting them dry and this morning I carefully opened a dried one to see where/what part might be the seeds...and I didn't see anything that looked like a seed! Then I did a web search and finally found a pic of what were supposed to be Strictocardia b. seeds and it showed these small round brown and hard-looking things. I haven't seen anything from my Strictocardia that even vaguely resembles those little round brown 'seeds'. or any structure within the vine where these might develope.
PLEASE!......does anyone know where or how to find these seeds and what they actually look like? I would be so grateful if someone could point me in the right direction here. I read a lot of posts earlier today about starting them from cuttings and felt very discouraged because I just have not mastered the art of growing from cuttings and my success rate for overall is about 1 out of every 20 tries! So if anyone could tell me anything about the seeds for this plant you would be my Hero!
TIA :-)
Becky
