Anybody know how to propagate a Lonicera?

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

My Lonicera reticulata, Kintzleys Ghost Grape Honeysuckle is just about to bloom & I want to propagate this plant. Anybody ever had any success rooting a Lonicera? Thanks.

Yes, I think the easiest way is in the late summer or fall to take a very long vine and lay it on the ground and cover it with soil. Leave the growing tip exposed so you can identify where it is at. Dig is up the following spring and you should find that it has rooted in several places along the nodes.

Thank you so much. I'll do that this autumn. Right now, I'll enjoy the flowers.

I rooted these by taking a cutting about a foot long. I removed all the leaves on the bottom. I potted it up and kept in a sunny window. It rooted easily indoors. I've also rooted them by putting the cuttings in water.

Can you root the cuttins when they are in bud? Thanks.
