Live in northern Virginia and found this outside today (under 2 story deck). It's about 1 1/2 inches long by maybe 3/4 inches. Appears to have wings and 6 legs?

Its the discarded shell of a cicada. They live underground as a larvae, then hatch out of their old skin, leaving a shell behind, once they become adults =).
